Akagera National Park

The Akagera National Park is Rwanda's biggest Park located in the eastern part of the country with a drive time of about 2 hours and 30 minutes from the main capital Kigali. Akagera park was on 2700 square kilometres, and currently lies on 1,112 square kilometres of land. The Park was gazetted in 1934 after dividing the land and giving it out to the farmers. Nyungwe National Park

A 5 hours drive will take you to Nyungwe National Park from Rwanda's Capital Kigali. The park is located in the south western part of Rwanda covering an area of over 1,000 square kilometres about 600 square miles. The Volcanoes National Park is found in the North eastern part of Rwanda with only a 2 hours drive from the main Capital Kigali. It was first gazetted in 1925 and is said to be Africa's first National park. It boarders with the Virunga ranges from the DRC and Mgahinga Mountain from Uganda.
