The park is found in the Eastern region of Rwanda, along the Tanzanian border.

Programme for the 2 Days Akagera safari in Rwanda

Day 1 - Transfer to the Akagera National Park.

Wake up as early as 5:00 am, have your breakfast as you for the company drive guide. At exactly 6:00 am our guide picks you up and drives you to Rwanda's biggest wildlife Park. The drive time is 2 hours and 30 minutes (2½ hours) to get to the park's headquarters where we shall check in with our registration.

Depending on the weather, we may have a morning boat ride on Lake Ihema or an afternoon boat ride. Kindly note that boat rides in Akagera National Park are done depending on the weather at the Lake. If we can't have a morning ride, we continue with a morning game drive at the central point of the park driving along the Lake Shakani and Lake Ihem spotting Buffaloes, Hippos, lions, elephants, Zebras and many antelopes.

Drive back and check into your lodge for lunch as you wait for an afternoon activity. If we missed an activity in the morning, we finish it up in the afternoon from 3:00 pm.

Day 2 - Full day game drives and return to Kigali.

Depart at 6:00 am with your packed lunch. Todays concetration is up in the northern section of the park driving past the highest part of Akagera national park the Mutumba hill to the vast open savannah grasslands overlooking Tanzania. This section has the largest concentration of wildlife as it has easy feeding in the open plains.

Depart from the Park at 3:00pm and return to Kigali city for drop off or onward flight at Kigali International Airport.
